CROW is a German artist, painter, author, musician, and performance artist whose interdisciplinary practice spans several decades and diverse cultural contexts. He lived and worked for many years in Switzerland, Scandinavia, China, and Japan, where he developed an internationally oriented artistic position.
His oeuvre encompasses painting, performance, literature, and music and is characterized by an ongoing engagement with existential, mythological, and cultural inquiries. Formally, CROW’s work operates between expressive figuration, symbolic abstraction, and conceptual strategies, frequently merging image, text, sound, and performative action into integrated artistic constellations. His visual work is widely described as a form of poetic realism.
Alongside his visual art practice, CROW established an internationally recognized music career. As singer, songwriter, and founder of the metal band Medusa’s Child, he released several albums, undertook international tours, and was awarded a Gold Award in England for his musical achievements.
CROW has received numerous international distinctions, including prizes at the London Art Biennale, multiple awards in China, and a Book Award. In 2019, he was honored as “Artist of the Year” in China.
CROW currently lives and works in Leipzig, Germany.
